HARPSICHORD CURLCOMB…

Was fortunate to be ensconced in the local music festival in Belfast, Northern Ireland recently. Besides great tunes was also able to behold Irish creative inventiveness paired at its very best. Twas my blessing to take in the Whimsycurls Band. As all new groups do, they introduced themselves and commented on the “why” of their band’s name and origin.

They regaled us with fascinating details into their founding, cognomen. Seems after a session they let their very own hair down at the local diner (though tied back when corn beefed). There they ruminated both over proposed songs and deliveries, but also critically on their prospects of only becoming full-time musicians. Things did not look promising but for the inspiration of one Phil Filament-yes, they were down indeed to their last thread. All 4 were full-time sheep shearers and the word hair, hair, hair kept coming to our upgrowth Phil. Additionally Phil’s parents ran an up-and-coming Harpsichord storefront called The Plucked Presence. Phil thought his parents had gone too cerebral, other conscience-wise in naming it such. They did though cleverly anticipate and build the world’s 1st travel harpsichord. Declaring anything? Why yes, my roving happy Lapsichord. The crew will love it! But Phil had a gift, he could synergistically merge both challenges into one dynamic solution. The Whimsycurls…

Inspired by the development of computerized glasses that do everything from videoing conversations, answering posed questions resident on the lens and providing translation services at the ready prompted him first to examine his parent’s device.

An analysis of harpsichord music describes it as happy, light, even “whimsical”. Now that he was commercially challenged, he mused, what’s the hairy tie in? All day long he and his mates did nothing more than shear the sheep. However, seeing all those lost locks he thought it almost criminal people were pared of theirs via nature with no standing assistance.

He recalled the Minister’s sermon that morn that God “spoke” the world into existence. Genesis 1:3: “And God Said, Let There Be Light: And There Was Light.” The preacher referenced an amazing Christian program (Sid Roth) he had seen in America which mentioned the following. Hebrew Believers Alyosha and Jody Ryabinov were given a download by God showing, explaining certain fascinating foundational creative truths. Among them of course was mentioned that God spoke Hebrew establishing the universe. The word for “hovering” in the prior verse denoted a shaking and vibrating. Miraculously, when uttering Hebrew over sand, Hebrew vowel points “physically” appeared, manifested! Minister Alyosha asserts that both light and sound are one in the same just brought to light (or sound) via differing frequencies. So there, in a luminescent, melodious nutshell was Phil’s answer!

Likewise, Phil based his newfound premise as well on Scriptures. In the Book of Proverbs, in part, he spliced the following “Gospel Truths”. A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, does good as medicine, and has a continual feast (15:13, 15 and 17:22). Music’s frequency, then, “had” to have some sort of beneficial effect if discovered and employed. Hearkening back to the harpsichord family concerts conducted on Sunday evenings he did reflect how it had a happy, smile retaining outcome prior to the school week. It only waned with insistent English Grammar (rules, rules…) several days later.

Working non-stop though covered in fleece post-work Phil invented, developed the Harpsichord CurlComb. *Due to corporate protection, he won’t divulge the science behind the Band. You see, all 4 have abandoned each of their traditional instruments and only play, or more properly comb their respective CurlCombs both backwards, forwards, sideways, teasing hair aloft and even individually off on their own, regardless of what the other mates are playing. As they groom the Combs emit beautiful tunes via any pitch. And it all wondrously results somehow in “Heavenly Harmony”! The Mellifluous Manes was a suggested forbear.

It’s been proven that the happy, frolicsome, playful, “whimsy” melodies sung from the Comb when used not only miraculously grows hair on the spot, but, curly at that! And why not? For a smile IS a curl as a frown’s one down. A curl’s a smile on its face.

Phil donated the patent to his parents. It now comes with admonishments. A pet owner desired his French Poodle a hyper curled look and combed Henri. However, all it did was create intractable, impossible to groom ringlets besting the Maginot Line. The only rehab then was to abominably shave the poor dog and to patiently, slowly pick a ukulele.

The band now reflects weekly at that diner with their respective Harpsichord CurlCombs perched in those hairdos ensuring that continual feast (besides #5 on the menu).

In the event one’s Harpsichord CurlComb is late in the mail one should certainly look up Messianic Minister David Herzog (Sid Roth) who genuinely moves in miracles, instantly restored hair being just one of them. Faith over Follicles…

The Irish are not Hebrews; however, they did their lilting best appropriating God’s Truth. The closest to a desert people they shall be is stranded in a pit on the 17th…
